Smoked ribs

Kaytee and I are both so-so on ribs. Like, they're certainly tasty, but they're not our favorite cut of meat. I've been wanting to try to find my go-to recipe for smoking them. So I'll use this page to record my attempts and the results.

Attempt 1: 2-2-0.5 method

I'm pretty much using this recipe, but doing the final step for 30 min instead of 60 minutes.

  1. Remove bone-side membrane if there, dry, mustard as binder, dry rub of choice both sides, let sit 10+ minutes.
  2. Smoker to 250.
  3. Indirect cook bone-side-down for 2 hours.
  4. Remove from grill, lay on foil, add 1.5T apple cider vinegar, and 1T honey, wrap, place back on grill for 2 more hours.
  5. Remove from grill, unwrap, apply bbq sauce, back on grill for 30 minutes, flip at 15 minute mark.
  6. Remove from grill, rest for 10-20 minutes, slice ribs apart, enjoy.
